Christopher Veselka Obituary

Published by Legacy on Dec. 14, 2022.
Christopher "Bryan" Veselka went home to Jesus on December 11, 2022, at age 48.
Bryan was born to Cynthia and Randall Veselka on November 9, 1974, in Corpus Christi, TX. As a child, Bryan loved Star Wars, playing with his little sister Kim, and having fun at the beach. Bryan was Cynthia and Randall's first child and he brought so much love and light to their world.
Bryan met his wife, Wendy, in 1995 on Compuserve. They married in 1996 in Corpus Christi. Bryan suffered from Danon's disease and was placed on the heart transplant list in 1997. Bryan and Wendy moved to Houston and waited 15 months on the transplant list. On October 19th, 1998, Bryan received a new heart. We are forever grateful to our donor family. Bryan was able to enjoy many years with his new heart. Wendy and Bryan went on to have 2 children, Caedmon and Lyric. Bryan was so proud to be a father. He loved video games and spent lots of time playing with his boys.
Bryan faced many health challenges over the years. He started losing his vision at 24 years old and was completely blind by the time he was 40. Bryan suffered a heart attack in 2017 which weakened his body. Through everything Bryan never gave up and never complained. Bryan entered hospice in 2019 and eventually became bedridden. Bryan always had an amazing attitude and praised God every day of his life.
In addition to being a dedicated and loving father, Bryan also loved books, music, and movies. Andrew Peterson was his favorite musical artist. Goonies, Princess Bride, and Back to the Future were his favorite films. He loved the Lord of the Rings and Chronicles of Narnia books. He also loved to read the Bible. Bryan overcame his disabilities and obtained his Associates Degree in Religious Studies.
Throughout his entire life, Bryan held an unwavering faith in God, which he shared with those who surrounded him. Bryan loved with a heart as big as Texas. Everyone who met Bryan could see the love of Jesus that lived inside of him. We know he is rejoicing in heaven. He will be celebrating the birth of his Lord and Savior with Jesus this year.
Bryan joins his grandparents, Loretta and Wally Buster, his uncles, Michael, Gary, Billy, Johnny, and Wally Buster, his mother in law Linda Williams, his cousin in law Dennis Church, and his dear friend Edward Bachman in Heaven.
Bryan is survived by his wife Wendy Veselka, his sons Caedmon and Lyric Veselka, his parents Cynthia and Randall Veselka, his sisters Kimberly Marincik, Shelley Houtsma, Brandelin Demmel, and Ashlin Jones.
A visitation for Bryan will be held Monday, December 19, 2022 from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Olinger Chapel Hill Mortuary & Cemetery. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 2:00 PM, Mountain View Room with a burial to follow at Olinger Chapel Hill Cemetery.
