Charles "Chuck" Mowery, age 63, passed away on June 7, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Chuck was born on August 19, 1960, in Columbus Ohio, to Francis and Ann Mowery. He attended Valley High School, graduating a year early, and went on to Des Moines Technical Institute.
Chuck enjoyed a distinguished career as a mechanic, advancing through several leadership roles including his current role at Monarch Cement. He was known for his dedication to his work, willingness to always lend a helping hand, and positive attitude that inspired those around him.
In 2000, Chuck & Judy united in marriage surrounded by their friends, family, and four children: Aaron, Alan, Nikki, & Lisa. Chuck was a devoted Husband, Father, and "Grampy" who loved spending time with his family, fishing, hunting, and all things outdoors. A cherished annual tradition was spending the day at the Iowa State Fair with his family.
Chuck was an active member of his community, volunteering countless hours in Boy Scouts. He received the District Award of Merit and Vigil Honor Order of the Arrow for his many contributions.
Chuck is loved and missed by his wife Judy. Chuck is also survived by his children Aaron (Ashley) Mowery, Alan (Jenna) Jones, Nikki (Tommy) Bomstad, Lisa (BJ) Melsha; 10 grandchildren: Dylan, Drew, Derek, Cole, Sutton, AJ, Gunner, Maverick, Beckett, & Greyson; father Francis; sister Jan (Ron); and nieces and nephews. Chuck was proceeded in death by his mother Ann.
Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM on June 12, 2024, at Iles Grandview Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the family in Chuck's memory, to be donated to a charity in Chucks honor.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to everyone for their support during this difficult time. Chuck will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
Chuck's family will greet friends with a memorial visitation from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Iles Grandview Park Chapel.
