Cindy Lou Burdeshaw, of Lake Wales, Florida formerly of Tallahassee, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at Good Shepherd Hospice.
Cindy was born on June 3, 1958, in Ludington, Michigan to the late Margaret E. Peck Bigsby and Milbert J. Bigsby. She lived most of her life in Tallahassee, Florida, moving to Lake Wales a year ago. Cindy attended and graduated from Amos P. Godby High School in 1977. Cindy worked at the Florida Department of Revenue for 38 years before retiring.
She loved crocheting and sewing. She loved making baby blankets, hats, and booties for the teen pregnancy center, and making bibs, Christmas door hangers, and walker caddies for patients in nursing homes. She has helped and made lots of quilts for friends and family members. She also helped to make quilts for "Quilts of Valor". She loved making anything that she could sew. She helped to teach family members how to crochet and sew, which was a favorite of hers.
Cindy was a member of the Florida Sewing Sewsociety and the Greater Capital Area Chapter of Red Hat Society of Scarlett O Hatters. She and her husband Joey volunteered for the Red Cross helping with storms and disasters. She was a member of Thomas Memorial Baptist Church in Quincy, Florida.
She is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Joseph D. Burdeshaw Jr. of Lake Wales, One brother James Bigsby (Monika) of Salisbury, North Carolina, two sisters Teresa Woolneston of Tallahassee, Florida and Ammie Osborn of Crawfordville, Florida; one brother in law John Burdeshaw (Eloda) of Corona, California, three sisters in laws Sandra Bermejo, (Cedrie) of Pensacola, Florida, Amy Williams (Roger) of Marianna, Florida, Trish Burdeshaw of Pensacola, Florida and many nieces, nephews, and cousins that loved her dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00PM on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Bevis Funeral Home. The family will have a visitation one hour prior to the service at 11:00AM. The burial will follow the service at Tallahassee Memory Gardens.
