Cindy Schmidt Obituary
Cindy A. Schmidt, 68 of South Sioux City passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, December 11, 2023 at Hope Lutheran Church in South Sioux City.
Cindy was born the daughter of Harold and Emogene (Sunderman) Schmidt on January 1, 1955 in Norfolk, Nebraska. She graduated from Madison High School in Madison, Nebraska and then completed her CNA training.
Cindy made her home in Madison, Nebraska and had moved to South Sioux City about six years ago. She worked at Mercy Medical Center and for several area nursing homes over the years. She was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church.
Cindy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and going to their activities. She was close with her granddaughter, Jayda. They went to church regularly and spent a lot of time together. She also liked playing cards, sewing for her family, and watching Husker football.
Cindy is survived by her daughter, Jodie Moore and her significant other, Chris of Sioux City; siblings, Dennis (DiAnne) Schmidt, Ron (Cheryl) Schmidt, Carol (Randy) Towns, and Jerry (Jeanette) Schmidt; grandchildren, Kobe, Braylon, and Jayda; several nieces and nephews; and sisters-in-law, Audrey and Kathy Schmidt.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Dean and Greg.
