Mrs. Cladie Boykin

With profound love and cherished memories, we celebrate the life of Cladie Mae Boykin,
who passed away peacefully surrounded by family and love.
Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at Feldhaus Memorial Chapel
Visitation will be from 12 Noon until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Born on March 27, 1929, to the late Dan and Lucy Gordon, Cladie was a proud native of
Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She attended Holloway High School, where she began a lifelong
journey of learning, faith, and service. At a young age, Cladie accepted Christ and attended
Green Meadow Church of Christ, where her faith continued to guide her throughout her life.
Cladie married her soul mate, Abraham F. Boykin, and together they shared an
extraordinary 72 years of marriage. Their union was a testament to enduring love, filled with
laughter, resilience, and unwavering devotion.
After dedicating 30 years of service to Genesco, Cladie embraced retirement with grace
and joy. She enjoyed-cooking delicious meals for her family, tending to her garden,
canning with care, reading, and delighting in the antics of her grandchildren, who lovingly
called her "Mama Kay." A loyal fan of the Tennessee Titans and the Atlanta Braves, Cladie
never missed a game and always had a spirited opinion to share.
Sundays were sacred in the Boykin household, as Cladie upheld the cherished tradition of
gathering her family for Sunday dinners-moments filled with warmth, stories, and the
aroma of her famous home-cooked meals.
Cladie was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers James, Robert, and Edward
Gordon; her sister Frances Robertson; her beloved daughter Paula Boykin; and her
grandson Christopher McClean.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength in the hearts of those who survive her: her
devoted husband Abraham F. Boykin; her brother Joe Gordon; her daughters Pam (Bruce)
Martin, Jan (Jimmie) Young, and Stephanie Boykin; her grandchildren Kimberly (Antonio)
Thompson, Sheldon (Barbara) Young, Stephen (Rachel) Young, Paul Boykin, and
honorary granddaughter Jenee Crump.
Her joy multiplied through her great-grandchildren: Jakori (Lashonda) Boykin, Myles,
Brandon, and Kobe Thompson, Tyler, Gavin, and Gianna Young, Kylan, A'mari, and
Jakari Boykin, I'yannah Bush, Kaison, Kali, and Nyla Tidwell, and her precious great-
great-granddaughter Emmori Ann Boykin, affectionately known as "Tidley Winks," Mama
Kay's special nickname for her.
She is also lovingly remembered by her best friend Vinnie Rucker, and a host of extended
