Clair E. Sprout, 89, formerly of Manheim and Luther Acres, Lititz, died Monday September 8, 2025 at Lancaster General Hospital. Born in Penn Township, he was the son of the late Winfield L. and Mary R. (Eitnier) Sprout. Clair was a truck driver for Diffenderfer Disposal Service from 1965-1987 and worked on the family farm from 1970 – 1984. He was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Penryn. Clair loved going to farm tractor sales and was an active volunteer at Luther Acres.
Surviving are four cousins; Dick Buckwalter husband of Marty Buckwalter, Kasson, MN., Susan (Buckwalter) Hoover wife of Dennis, Landisville, Pa., Randy Carlton, husband of Barbi (Styer) Carlton, Greencastle, Pa and Beverly (Buckwalter) Weit wife of Scott Weit, Lititz, Pa. A funeral service honoring the life of Clair will be held at the Chapel of the Good Samaritan, 250 St. Luke Drive, Lititz PA, on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM. There will be a time of visitation from 10:30 until the time of the service. Interment will be in Penryn Cemetery.
