Claire S. Marchand
June 26, 1948 – December 15, 2022
Claire Marchand, 74, of Biddeford, passed away on Thursday December 15, 2022 after a long illness at Southridge Living Center.
Claire was born on June 26, 1948 to Henri and Laurette Boissonneault Neault. Claire was the oldest of two daughters that were separated by ten years. She loved her little sister Carol from the moment she was born. She took her everywhere in her teenage years. They shared a bond that only sisters could.
Claire married the love of her life and soulmate Donald Marchand on September 2, 1967 and they had 3 daughters that were her world. They spent 55 years together. Don passed only 23 days before her and again called her to his side in heaven.
Claire was a very hard worker. She worked many years at Shape. She also worked at the Journal Tribune and retired from Southern Maine Medical Center. Claire enjoyed her life. She loved playing bingo, fishing and most of all sitting in her swing with friends and family at Apache Campground.
Claire is predeceased by her parents, and her husband Don.
Claire was the rock of her family and will be extremely missed by her daughters Debra Palmer and husband Clinton of Biddeford, Lisa Grenier and her partner Russel Boivin of Tamworth, New Hampshire, and Donna Farrell and husband Walter of Oakland; grandchildren Emily Warburton and husband Tristan, Justin, Ashley and Molly Palmer, Ryan, Bryce and Tyler Grenier and Alyssa Montheith, Conner Farrell, and Lillian Rains; her sister Carol Coombs and her husband Mike; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours will be from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm on Friday, December 23, 2022 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St, Biddeford, ME 04005. A Funeral Outside of Mass will be held at 1:00 pm at Hope Memorial Chapel. Burial will take place along side her husband in the spring.
