Claire St. Jean Thibeault passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, at the McClure Miller Respite House after a brief illness. She was born on March 29, 1930, to Rosa and Alonzo St. Jean in Manchester, New Hampshire, where she was raised. She graduated from St. Joseph's High School for Girls.
Claire married Bernard Thibeault on July 7, 1951, and eventually followed Bernard's work to Burlington, Vermont in 1967 where she remained at home raising their seven children. She returned to the workforce in 1979, working at Ames Department Store for 23 years until her retirement in 2002. At that time, she moved to the Pines Senior Community where she resided until her passing. While there, she made long-lasting friendships and enjoyed participating in various activities. Claire also loved to travel, cherishing many memory-filled trips to Belfast Maine with her family. She also took great pleasure going on bus tours around the country and was able to embark on two ocean cruises.
She is survived by her seven children: Jayne Thibeault and partner Norm Reuss; Nancy (Tom) Miner; Donald (Barbara) Thibeault; Dennis Thibeault; Bernard Jr. (Susan) Thibeault; Karen (Garry) Jordan; James Thibeault and partner Kim Perreault. In addition, grandchildren Patrick and Travis Miner, Rachel Manikian, Bryan Miller, Andrew Thibeault, Cassandra Loucy, Bernard Thibeault III, John Thibeault, Raymond Thibeault, Kelsey Pitts, Alyson Jordan, Sydney Jordan, Ryan Jordan, Shannon Martin, David Thibeault, Mary Gibbs, and great grandchildren: Charlie, Jack, Logan, Luke, Maya, Forrest, Marzley, Reagan, Harper, Cameron, Maya, Morgan, August and Rowan.
She is also survived by her brother Paul St. Jean, brother-in-law Edward (Patricia) Thibeault, many nieces and nephews, and two special cousins Rachel Gregoire and Alida Wolney. She was predeceased by her husband Bernard Thibeault, her parents, Alonzo St Jean, Rosa Levesque and stepfather George Levesque, in-laws Dennis and Mary Thibeault, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Francis and Ruth Thibeault, niece Catherine Thibeault, and sister-in-law Pauline St. Jean.
At her request, there will be no viewing hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. John Vianney Church 160 Hinesburg Road South Burlington on November 1st, 2025, at 11 am. Immediately following an interment will take place at Resurrection Park Cemetery 200 Hinesburg Road South Burlington.
