Clara V. Barnowski

Mrs. Clara V. Barnowski of DuBois, IL, departed this life at Friendship Manor Healthcare Center in Nashville, IL on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at 9:20 A.M. She had attained the age of 95 years, 10 months and 10 days.
Mrs. Barnowski was born on December 24, 1926, at Radom, IL, the youngest daughter of Stefan and Helen (nee Prusacki) Szopinski. She was united in marriage to Enoch "Enick" John Barnowski on August 16, 1947, by Fr. Stanley Berent, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Radom, IL. Enoch preceded her in death on September 23, 1991.
Clara was a homemaker and a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Dubois, IL. She was a member of the St. Theresa Altar Sodality, the Living Rosary and the American Association of Retired Persons. Clara enjoyed quilting and listening to polka music, and she loved and took great pride in being a mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Left to mourn her passing are her three children, Thomas Barnowski and wife Sue of St. Louis, MO, Joseph Barnowski of Todds Mill, IL and Susan Zmudzinski of Scheller, IL; eight grandchildren, Gary (Christina) Zmudzinski, Greg Zmudzinski, Joseph (Danielle) Barnowski, Thomas (Erin) Barnowski, Michael (Kristen) Barnowski, Stephen Barnowski, Tony (Korie) Barnowski and Sarah (Shon) Kary; ten great grandchildren, Aidan, Julien, Brielle, Jack, Ava, Grace, Nora, Audrey, Grant and Addison; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Frank Szopinski, Stanley Stevens and John Prusacki; six sisters, Rose Mamel, Mary Borowiak, Sophia Kujawa, Regina Lukasik, Caroline Dalman and Theresa Kujawa; son-in-law, Gary Zmudzinski, Sr.; daughter-in-law, Sally Barnowski and her godson, Larry Kujawa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in DuBois, IL on Monday, November 7, 2022, at 11 AM with Fr. Oliver Nwachukuw officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery in Todds Mill, IL.
Friends may call at the St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in DuBois, IL on Monday from 9 AM until the service hour.
In lieu of flowers, mass offerings or memorials can be made to the St. Charles Cemetery, St. Mary Magdalen Cemetery or St. Michael Cemetery and will be accepted by the Campagna Funeral Home, who is assisting the family with arrangements.
