Clara Jo Smith, of Pauls Valley, passed away October 17, 2025 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 91 years.
Clara Jo Moore was born February 26, 1934 in Maysville, Oklahoma to James Edmon and Bertha (Rose) Moore.
She married Billy Joe Smith in Elmore City, Oklahoma on December 13, 1955. She loved playing games like Dominoes, Yahtzee, and working puzzles. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and was always thrilled to see her grandkids and great grandbabies play. She has always been about family, she loved going on vacation, camping and fishing, with them.
She worked at the Pauls Valley General Hospital for 21 years until her retirement in 1991. Clara Jo was an active member of the Beaty Baptist Church. She believed and trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ. She had lived 10 years in Oklahoma City with most of her life making her home in the Pauls Valley area.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Bertha (Rose) Moore; a son, Randy Smith; a grandson, Lane Smith; a great granddaughter, Madelyn Thomas; 5 brothers, Billy, Ray, Howard, Ralph and Homer Moore; and 4 sisters, Ida Hogue, Joyce Wood, Cordy Moore and Bobbie Norton.
Clara Jo was survived by her husband of almost 70 years, Billy Joe Smith of the home; two children, Rosa and her husband, Eugene Williams, of Pauls Valley; David and his wife, Linda Smith, of Lone Grove; and daughter in law Tanya Smith; 5 grandchildren, Tyler, Jessica, Trevor, Kayla and Ashley, 8 great grandchildren, 1 brother, Junior Moore, of Blanchard; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Pastor Glenn Alley. Interment will be at Maysville Cemetery under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home. We invite you to send words of comfort to the family at www.stufflebeanfuneralhome.com.
