Jack O'Bryant Foster was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on January 24, 1939, to Jess Foster and Odessa (Toller) Foster. He passed peacefully on October 13, 2025, in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma, surrounded by those who loved him. He was 86 years old.
Jack was a true Oklahoma boy. He graduated from Moore High School in 1959 and went on to serve his country with honor in the United States military. Following his service, Jack began a lifelong career as a government employee, dedicating more than 30 years to Tinker Air Force Base as part of the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex. During his distinguished career, he earned numerous certificates of recognition for his dedication and excellence.
After a debilitating stroke left him unable to live independently, Jack moved to The Willows Assisted Living Residence in 2012. Despite facing many health challenges, he remained known for his big smile, cheerful attitude, and gentle spirit-always greeting others with a warm hand squeeze and a kind word.
Jack had a joyful passion for life and loved everything about the holidays. His Christmas celebrations were known for their beautiful tablescapes and dazzling displays of lights, both indoors and out. Equally memorable were the Halloween parties he and his late life partner, Dean, hosted-legendary gatherings where guests competed to outdo one another with creative and theatrical costumes.
A talented musician, Jack enjoyed playing both the piano and the organ. One of the highlights of his early adult life was being a member of a small musical group called The Myriads. Music remained an important part of his life and a source of joy for those who knew him.
Jack was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church in Sulphur, Oklahoma. His kindness, humor, and lighthearted nature will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Odessa Foster, and his partner Dean King.
Jack's surviving niece wants to thank the nurses and all the staff at the Willows Assisted Living Facility for all they did for him the past thirteen years he lived there and for the kindness of his dear friend John Skaggs.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jack's memory to the Pauls Valley Animal Welfare Society, 300 Airport Road, Pauls Valley, Oklahoma 73075.
There will be a private burial at a later date. Public visitation will be on Friday, October 17, 2025 from 9:00 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. at Wooster Funeral Home in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.
