Eric Louis Davenport February 24, 1965 – October 16, 2025 Eric Louis Davenport, age 60, of Moore, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2025. Born on February 24, 1965, in Norman, Oklahoma, Eric lived a life marked by deep faith, generosity, and a strong connection to family, friends, and the outdoors.
A proud graduate of Moore High School, Class of 1983, Eric built a meaningful and multifaceted life. He founded Davenport Trucking, a business that not only served his community but also brought lifelong friendships that became like family. He later worked for many years at AT&T, where his patience and compassion made him especially gifted in assisting the elderly customers.
Eric was a man of many passions. He found peace and joy in the simple beauty of nature-hunting pheasants and quail and fishing in his backyard pond, where he took great pride in sharing photos of his catches. He also loved Brittany Spaniels and many beloved dogs found their way into his heart and home.
His heart was truly at home surrounded by friends and family, always ready with a warm smile, a helping hand, or even the shirt off his back. His generosity knew no bounds. Many dear friends stood by him through both joyful times and the difficult days following his accident-offering companionship, encouragement, and countless acts of kindness.
Eric's family extends heartfelt gratitude to the many nurses, doctors, and caregivers who supported him throughout his journey, including those at Accel at Crystal Park, Iris Memory Care, OU Trauma Hospital, Norman Regional Hospital, and especially the staff at Luxe Life. Their patience and compassion meant the world.
A man of unwavering faith, Eric loved Jesus with all his heart. He was an active member of both Emmaus Baptist Church and South Lake Church and found great joy in singing gospel music-especially the songs of Alan Jackson. His love for the Lord shone through in the way he lived, gave, and loved others.
Eric is survived by his son, Dakota Valverde; his father, Louis Davenport, and stepmother, Linda Davenport; sisters Lesa Lee and husband Rodney Lee, and Gina Bartholomew and husband Brad; along with many other loving family members and friends who will miss his presence dearly. He was preceded in death by his wife, Tracy Davenport and beloved mother, Elaine Davenport.
A celebration of Eric's life will be announced by the family in the coming days. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Russell Murray Hospice in gratitude for their care and compassion.
Eric's legacy is one of love, loyalty, faith, and quiet strength-the kind that lifts others up. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Eric, please visit our floral store.
