Jan Inman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home and Chapel on Oct. 17, 2025.

Jan Rojene (Sturgeon) Inman, 68, beloved mother, sister, and friend of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away surrounded by her children on October 15, 2025. She was born on May 24, 1957, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, to Robert Gerald and Jennie Lea (Munkres) Sturgeon. Jan spent much of her childhood in Enid, Oklahoma, where she attended Enid Public Schools and graduated from Enid High School in 1975. During her school years, she was active in the band and proudly served as a twirler. Jan married in March 1978 and became a proud mother to her son, Robin, in 1980. She later remarried and, in 1986, welcomed her daughter, London, completing her family.
Jan worked as a legal assistant, starting at Andrews Davis Law Firm, where she built a strong foundation in her field and developed many lasting friendships. Over the years, she became known for her reliability, attention to detail, and quiet determination. She later continued her career at Ed White Law, where she worked until her retirement.
At her core, Jan was a nurturer. She loved her family deeply and showed it in the best way she knew how-through love, laughter, and thoughtfulness. She gave the most thoughtful gifts, always finding something that made you feel seen and known.
When life got overwhelming, Jan's way of saying she had had "enough" was to slip away for a bit-a small reset before she came back with her usual warmth and dry wit. Her favorite phrase, "Onward through the fog," summed her up perfectly: no matter what came her way, she kept moving forward with resilience and grace. Jan loved music, nature, and time outdoors, but her happiest moments were always with her family-on trips, at the lake, or celebrating holidays together. She loved decorating for every season, but Halloween and Christmas were her favorites; her home became a full celebration, filled with color, sparkle, and joy. One of her greatest joys in life was being "Grammy" to her grandson, Bowie. She spent countless hours playing on the floor, baking cookies, crafting, and cheering him on at his games and school events.
She is survived by her two children, Robin Moulton and spouse Deann Moulton of Moore, Oklahoma, and London Bridge and spouse Benny Bilodeau of Edmond, Oklahoma; and her beloved grandson, Bowie of Edmond, Oklahoma. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Little and husband Ken Little, and Rita Boldes and husband Mike Boldes; and her nieces and nephews Shaun Little, Chrissy Mathews, Robert and Richard Boldes, and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Gerald Sturgeon and Jennie Lea (Munkres) Sturgeon; her nephews, Phillip Burchette and Dustin Little; and several other loved ones who welcomed her home.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, October 23rd, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Life Church Midwest City 6809 E Reno Ave, Midwest City, OK 73110. A graveside service and burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Ames Cemetery in Ames, Oklahoma, where Jan will be laid to rest. Friends and family are welcome to attend, though the family understands that travel may not be possible for everyone.
Her warmth, humor, and love will be missed every day, but the memories she created will stay with us forever.
