Clare E. (Linscott) MacLeod, age 92, of Brockton, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2025 at the Boston Medical Center South in Brockton. She was the loving wife of James F. MacLeod.

Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Roy Linscott and Doris (Howker) Linscott.

Clare was raised and educated in Acton. She furthered her education at Bridgewater State College receiving a degree in music education and a masters degree in Education.

She was formerly employed as teacher with the Brockton school system for over 30 years.

She was a member of the Pearl Street United Methodist Church, Brockton, where she held the position of choir director. She was also a member and matron of the Eastern Star.

Clare enjoyed music, singing in the choir at church and quilting.

Besides her husband she is survived by her 2 children, Bruce D. Howard of Middleboro and Priscilla R. McKay of Brockton. She was the mother of the late Mark D. McKay and sister of the late Roy H. Linscott.

A Period of visitation will be held at the Kane Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 605 Washington Street (Rte. 138) Easton on Thursday, August 28th from 9:00am to 11:00am. Followed by her service starting at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Relatives and friend are invited to attend.
