We honor the memory of Clare Frances Sikora, who departed this life peacefully in her room on July 31, 2025.

Clare was born on November 26, 1930, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Clare is the sole daughter of Mr. Theophile Kazmerchak and Mrs. Anna Maie Kazmerchak. Clare is preceded in death by her father and mother, Theophile and Anna Mae, her devoted husband Orwill (Bill) Granger Sikora, and her son James Robert Sikora.

She is survived by her eldest son Charles David Sikora, son Donald Gene Sikora, son Dale Wayne Sikora, daughter Jerilee Frances Sikora-Ortiz, grandson Jeremy Keith Ortiz, granddaughter Julia Frances Ortiz, great-grandson Jireh Declan Ortiz, daughters-in-law Jennifer Sikora and Jill Ortiz, and son-in-law Jerry Ortiz.

Clare Sikora was raised in the town of Rawlins, Wyoming, where she developed her passion for writing and music, learning to play both the trumpet and accordion. She attended and graduated from Rawlins High School.

Subsequently, she enrolled at the University of Wyoming, earning a degree in Journalism with a minor in Music. Clare is an exceptionally proud alumna of the University of Wyoming, where she contributed to the university's yearbook, participated in the marching band, and met her husband of 58 years, Orwill Sikora.

Mom was blessed with a very good, happy and successful life. Clare and her husband Orwill embarked on building a life together, moving across various regions of the United States during their early years, experiencing numerous locations based on the company's assignments. Throughout their travels, Clare formed friendships wherever she went. Eventually, Clare and Orwill established their home in Chicago, Illinois, where they resided for 17 years and contributed to the formation of a parent support group for Deaf children and sign language. Clare dedicated her time as a volunteer at her son's schools and at her daughter's school for the Deaf. Following this period, Clare relocated to Houston, Texas, where she spent over 40 years. During her time there, she volunteered, served as a substitute teacher, and worked ultimately retired from Klein Independent School District. Clare took pleasure in maintaining journals and composing detailed, engaging Christmas letters each year for her friends and family. She devoted her time to her community by volunteering at her church, where she served in various roles, including usher, lector, and Sunday school teacher, for four decades. Additionally, Clare generously volunteered at the local NAM NorthWest Assistance Ministries Resale Store for many years and participated in annual Quilting Bee Events to sew quilts for those in need. Clare possessed a profound faith and was committed to serving and giving to others, her church, and her community.

After dedicating her time to volunteer work, Clare took pleasure in remaining active at all times, ensuring that no moment was wasted. She relished traveling throughout the United States, visiting Yellowstone National Park, and even spent three months living in London, England. Clare served as the den mother for her son's Boy Scouts troop, and she found joy in sewing, creating her own dresses, listening to music, watching Broadway musicals, playing a good game of Scrabble, swimming and walking every day. She cherished having picnics on pleasant days and adored watching beautiful sunsets. Clare had a deep love for her family. She was a remarkable wife and partner to her husband Orwill (Bill), an exceptionally loving mother to all her children, a wonderful grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandson, and a consistently supportive friend to all her acquaintances. Her absence will be profoundly felt.
