Clarence A. Charles, 78, of Bradford, RI Passed away on Thursday, January 22. 2026 at the Westerly Hospital surrounded by the love of his family. He was the husband of Helen E. (Carter) Charles. Born in Rutland, Vermont on November 20, 1947, he was the son of Vernon and Joyce (Fielder) Charles.

Clarence was a proud mechanic, serving both the military and throughout his private life. A true problem solver at heart, he loved cooking and baking for his entire family, assembling intricate puzzles, and tackling any woodworking project he could dream up in his beloved "man cave" alongside his two best buds. Known for his quick wit and favorite saying that was calling everyone "dumbass," a term used with love and humor. Clarence brought laughter wherever he went. His happiest moments were those spent surrounded by his family, whom he loved deeply and fiercely. Above all else, family was his greatest pride and joy.

He joined his two brothers, his two sisters and his son Brian. He is survived by his sons Billy, Joe, Kevin, Paul and far too many grand/great grand kids to count. He also leaves behind his best friend Sandy.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Clarence's name to Helen Charles.

A burial with honors will be held at 301 South County Trail on February 20th at 11am at the Rhode Island Veterans memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
