Cecilia - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cecilia for Clarence "Coy" A. Knott, 87, who passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at St. Joseph Hospice.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed at the funeral home in Cecilia from 7:30 am until 10:30 am on Thursday.
A rosary will be prayed at 9:00 am on Thursday.
Rev. Gregory Cormier will officiate at the Funeral Mass.
Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Cecilia.
Clarence, known to his family and friends as "Coy" was born January 12, 1935, in Arnaudville. Most of his career was being a farmer and he loved being outside on his tractor doing what he loved. He enjoyed taking trips to the casino, cooking, gardening, and cutting his grass on his Cub Cadet lawnmower. You would often see Coy riding around on his lawnmower visiting his neighbors. He took joy in having company over and drinking many cups of coffee. Coy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his children, Randy Knott (Cheryl), Debbie Dupuis (Dickie), Brenda Knott, Cynthia "Bozo" K. Taylor (Ricky), and Travis Knott (Allison); grandchildren, Monica Theriot (Shane), Jeremy Knott (Candi), Dana Dupuis, Brandi Hanson (Todd), Megan Hardy, April Leger (Leonard), Sammy Taylor (Tiffany), Donovan Lanclos (Rebecca), Holly Taylor, Logan Hardy (Adrienne), Hogan Hardy (Maria), Gavin Knott, Jace Knott and Ashton Knott; 11 great grandchildren; and his siblings, Alta Huval (Steve "Boy") and Richard Knott.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Merley Taylor Knott; parents, Albert and Malvina Latiolais Knott; two children, Baby Knott and Mona Knott Lanclos; and his siblings, Eula Lagrange, Anna Lou Melancon, Janice Artigue, and Eurice Knott.
Pallbearers will be Donovan Lanclos, Jeremy Knott, Jace Knott, Gavin Knott, Logan Hardy, Hogan Hardy, and Ashton Knott.
