Clarence Prentiss Stiltner, age 92, of the Old Kentucky Turnpike section of Raven, Virginia, passed away on Sunday, June 22, 2025, at his home.
Clarence was born on February 5, 1933 in Buchanan County, Virginia, and was the son of the late Roscoe Stiltner and Laura Potter Stiltner. He was a retired coal miner and was a lifelong resident of the area. He will be missed by all those who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Vance; sisters, Maggie Wallace, Della Stiltner, Birchie Stiltner, and Myrtle Stiltner; and brothers, Noah Stiltner, Vernon Stiltner, Roscoe Stiltner, and Grant Stiltner. Clarence was the last survivor of his immediate family.

Wayne Stiltner of Vansant, Virginia
Matthew Vance and wife, Jessica of Oakwood, Virginia
Also surviving are several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends.
The funeral service for Clarence Prentiss Stiltner will be at 11:00 am on Friday, June 27, 2025 at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Chapel in Richlands, Virginia. Interment will follow at Greenhills Memory Gardens in Claypool Hill, VA. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers. The Stiltner family will receive friends from 10-11 am at the funeral home.
