Clarence Daniel Wipf went to be with Jesus on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 surrounded by family. He was 73 years old. Born to Daniel and Sarah Wipf on April 29, 1952 in Rockport Colony, South Dakota, Clarence was the 11th son of 13 children. Clarence grew up seven miles from Lillian, but the two did not meet until they were young adults. On August 28, 1977, the young sweethearts were married in Fairview Colony, later moving to Willowbank Colony where he worked as a dairyman and later ran the lumberyard. In 2007, Clarence and Lillian moved to Richland Center, Wisconsin. Two years later, Clarence took a job at Long Creek Steel in Lennox, South Dakota. He and Lillian enjoyed living close to extended family and shopping in Sioux Falls. In 2023, they moved back to the rolling hills of Wisconsin to be closer to some of their children. Clarence and Lillian enjoyed 48 wonderful years together and were blessed with five children who went on to gift them with 17 adorable grandchildren. Clarence always had a dollar for his grandkids as he hugged them goodbye after a visit. With his children and family spreading far and wide to different states and countries, Clarence enjoyed visiting as often as he could. He and Lillian visited their son, Robert and his family once in Indonesia and twice in Korea. He traveled to Canada to see his daughter Jeannie and her family, his nieces, and many friends several times a year. When visiting his children in Wisconsin, he loved to take time to check in on his nephews in the area. Genealogy was his specialty. He could rattle off who belonged to whom in his large family, however far the connection. He loved to know what was going on with everyone and had an especially soft spot for his sisters. He will forever be remembered as our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Left to mourn and honor his memory are his wife, Lillian Wipf (nee Hofer) of Richland Center, WI and his 5 children and their families: Jeannie (Ben) Hofer, children Micah, Karri, Aleah, Tianna, Alex, Lily, Isabelle; Brandon (Samantha) Wipf, children Anne, Eva, Miles; Amanda (Eric) Mattice, children Mason, Lauren, Hailey; Robert (Hanna) Wipf, children Lana, Kai, Noah, Zoe; and Karen "Es Kint" Wipf. Also mourning his death are many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Clarence is preceded in his death by his father and mother, Daniel and Sarah Wipf, his brothers Jonathan, Peter, George, Pete, and Alvin, and his sisters Matilda and Sarah. As believers in Jesus Christ, we know that death is not the end, and we will meet again in eternity.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Grace Life Church in Richland Center, WI. Pastor Mike Kleinsasser will officiate with burial in English Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 4 PM to 7 PM at Clary Memorial Funeral Home in Richland Center and at church on Wednesday from 10:30 AM until the time of service.
