On July 21, 1928, Clarolynn (Scotty) Deever was born to Roy and Gladys Hileman in Auburn Township in Noble County, Oklahoma.
She spent her early life in Enid, Oklahoma before going on to York University in York Nebraska.
There she met her future husband, Paul Stanley Deever.
Scotty, 95, passed away on June 5, 2024, with her family by her side.
She led a very full life... raising a family, teaching elementary school for 29 years, and fulfilling the important duties of a minister's wife.
Mentoring countless children and youth, while serving as choir director, leading youth groups and Scout Troops, Scotty was willing to complete any task needed.
Scotty married Paul Deever on August 15, 1950. Together, they served churches throughout Kansas, including Esbon, LaCrosse, Independence, Shawnee Heights, Topeka and Silver Lake.
In retirement, she served as a docent at the Governor of Kansas mansion in Topeka, Kansas, volunteered at the Olathe Medical Center and participated on numerous committees and in a wide variety of activities at Cedar Lake Village.
Scotty was a dedicated and loving caregiver to Paul in his final years. He preceded her in death one hour shy of their 60th wedding anniversary on August 14, 2010.
Nothing was more important to Scotty than her family. She deeply loved, supported and prayed for them each day. Survivors include children Catharine Deever, Jeanette and her husband, Garry Worthington, Robert Deever and his wife, Donna, grandchildren Greg Moyer and his wife Anngie, Christopher Worthington, Jennifer Worthington, Douglas Deever and his wife Jackie Mares, Michael Deever and his wife Katelyn, and great- grandchildren Greyson, Grant, and Greer Moyer and Lawrence Eugene Deever-Mares.
A celebration of life will be held in the Worship of Life Center at Cedar Lake Village, Olathe, Kansas at 10:00 am, June 8, 2024.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, it was Scotty's wish that any memorial tributes be made to Cedar Lake Village, the home where she spent her later years in amongst friends and family
The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff at Cedar Lake Village and Good Shepherd Hospice for their loving and personal care.
Scotty will be remembered for her deep faith and "rules" of life:
• serve others before self
• love & care for each other
• accept imperfection
• be grateful for all we've been given

I am so sorry of Scotty's passing. She was a great person and a most positive influence of many children and adults. It was a honor to work with her at Tecumseh South Paul Bahnmaier
