Claude Arlen Duos

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Claude Arlen Duos will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2022, in St. Peters Catholic Church, Pine Prairie, with Father Kenneth Mayne officiating. Inurnment will follow in St. Peters Cemetery, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pine Prairie.
Mr. Duos, 83, of Beaver, entered eternal rest on Thursday, November 3, 2022, in his home surrounded by his family.
Claude was a loving husband, daddy, poppa, and beau-pere. He was the owner of Duos Christmas Tree Farm and provided fresh-cut Christmas trees for customers as far away as Houston, Texas and Colorado for over 35 years. During his offseason, he grew produce, and customers sought out his sweet satsumas, okra, corn, and mustard greens. In his "spare time" he pursued a career in the paper mill industry, working in the boiler room at Boise Cascade until he retired in 2004, beginning his papermill career at Elizabeth Paper Mill in 1957. His farming ventures began in the cattle and hog industry, but he decided to switch to Christmas trees in 1982 because Christmas trees "didn't jump fences."
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luke and Melday Duos.
Of all his successes, his family was his greatest pride. Those left to celebrate his life, cherish his memory, and continue his legacy include his wife of sixty-one years, Yvonne Duos; four daughters, Elizabeth Duos Marcantel (Matt) of Beaver, Anne Duos Aucoin (Marcus) of Beaver, Stephanie Duos LaFleur (Mike) of Pineville, and Hope Duos Cole (Mason) of Beaver; eight grandchildren, Lindsey Aucoin, Emily Marcantel Cox (James), Chelsea LaFleur Mashbum (Jacob), Lesley Aucoin Baugh (Joe Dan), Cody LaFleur (Rachel), Jacob Cole (Lorie), Joshua Cole (Dru), and Jessica Cole; eight great-grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Duos (Beverly) of Oakdale; one sister, Totsie Riley (Wade) of Pine Prairie; and special extended family, Randy and Belinda Reed of Deadwood, Texas.
A time of visitation will be held at St. Peters Catholic Church, Pine Prairie, on Monday, November 7, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
The family would like to thank Brighton Bridge Hospice and staff, Anna Manuel, Courtney and Shelby; Dr. Patrick Savoy; and Allison Hunley for their exceptional care, consideration, and respect they provided for our Patriarch.
