Kelton Joseph Dupre Sr.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Kelton Joseph Dupre, Sr. will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 21, 2025, at St. Peter Catholic Church, Pine Prairie, with Father Casey Dugas officiating. Inurnment will follow in Platin Cemetery, Vidrine, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mr. Dupre, 80, of Ville Platte, entered eternal rest on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Mercy Regional Medical Center, Ville Platte, LA.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Kelton was a history buff and loved all things history. He enjoyed watching old western movies. He "never" liked the Young and the Restless, yet somehow, he always knew what Victor Newman was up to. He enjoyed cooking and was an avid outdoorsman; he enjoyed spending his free time in the woods hunting. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Edoila Dupre; three brothers, Floyd Dupre, Harris Dupre, and Shelton Johnny Dupre; two sisters, Emma Joy Scace and Anna Manyard; and his fur baby, Rocky.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of fifty-two years, Angelique "Angie" Marie Dupre of Ville Platte; two sons, Kelton Joseph Dupre, Jr. of Georgia, and Jarrad Scott Dupre (Betty) of Pine Prairie; one daughter, Brandy Dupre Fontenot (Kevin Paul) of Ville Platte; seven grandchildren, Nickolas Dupre, Alicia Dupre, Alyssa Dupre, Jennifer Dupre, Torie Fontenot (Holden), Nick Fontenot, and Tiffany Fontenot; nine great grandchildren; and three sisters-in-law; Gloria Dupre, Sarah Dupre, and Pam Dupre.
A time of visitation will be held at Rush Funeral Home, Pine Prairie, on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until time of departure to the church. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 1:00 p.m. at Rush Funeral Home, Pine Prairie.
