Visitation services for Margaret “Ann” Duos, 77, will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2023, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath South Funeral Home, 2500 Southside Dr., Shreveport, Louisiana. A Memorial Service will follow immediately after at 1:15 p.m. Officiating the service will be Bro. Sam Marino.
Ann, also known as Memaw, was born on April 27, 1946, to Herbert and Florence Joyner in Rayville, Louisiana and passed away on May 12, 2023, in Shreveport, Louisiana.
Ann grew up in a small town on a farm and from a young age was taught to work the fields, gardens and help with whatever needed to be done. After graduating high school, she started college at Northeast Louisiana State College where she met Al Duos, the love of her life! They married and had five children together. She loved her family and was a devoted wife and loving Mother. She later went on to work in the oil and gas industry, renovated houses, had a cleaning business and then became Nanny to her grandchildren. Family was most important to her as she spent all her time with her kids and grandchildren. In addition, she loved dancing, had a passion for flower gardening and working in the yard.
Ann is preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Florence Joyner; brother, Larry Joyner; great-granddaughter, Isabella “Izzy” Duos; and the father of her children, Al Duos.
Left to cherish her memory is her brother, Howard Joyner and wife, Nancy; sister, Mary Jane Jones; sister, Faye Kavanaugh and husband, Track; her children, son, Todd Duos and wife, Rosa; grandchildren, Cody Duos, Lauren Duos; great-grandchildren, Kennon, Bryson, Brennan, and Mya; granddaughter, Logan Duos; great-grandchild, Wren Spencer; granddaughter, Lily Duos; great-grandchild, Mily Campanella; grandson, Chase Elkins; great-granddaughter, Hadley; grandchildren, Ernest, Isiah, Nathan and Melody; daughter, Allison Cooksey and husband, Kenneth; grandchildren, Bryan Cooksey and wife, Sarah; great-grandchild, Kennedy; Tristen Cooksey and wife, Mallory; great-grandchildren, Caroline, Ellie Rose and Cecila; daughter, Renee’ Carr and husband, John; grandchildren, Carigan and Peyton; daughter, Niccole Duos; son, Jasen Duos; and numerous nieces/nephews, great-nieces/nephews and cousins.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Willis-Knighton Hospital and Cancer Center, Red River Home Health, her therapists, Arma and Becky, nurse, M&M, Amedisys Hospice Care, and especially Courtney for their love and care for Ann. Much gratitude and love to Mrs. Ella Feaster who became part of our family and took such good care of our mom!!
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ann’s favorite charity, St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
