On Friday, February 7th, 2025, Claudette (Chart) Eugene Castillo, a native and resident of St. Rose Louisiana, ascended to heaven at her home at the age of 83. She was blessed with 83 years of life, now blessed with eternal life with the LORD.
Claudette was born on August 13, 1941 to the loving parents (Thomas and Carmen Eugene Sr.) whom taught her well how to live life. Blessed with siblings who lifted her up and encouraged her. Chart was also blessed with two wonderful husbands that loved her with all their hearts. Blessed with her loving children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. She later became a member of St. Michael's Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Keith Smith. She attended Bethune High School and later became an employee of St. Charles Parish, where she was a bus driver for many years.
Claudette was very well known and loved by her community, family, and friends. In 1957, Chart married Lawrence Armstrong Sr. and from this union, four children were born: Laurence Jr., Angela, Lisa, and Keith. After the passing of her husband, Chart later found love again and married Franklin Castillo. Chart and Frank relocated to Louisville, Kentucky. Chart traveled all over the United States working at racetracks with Frank until his passing in 2018. She enjoyed life and doing what she loved to do, like spending time with her grandchildren, and siblings. As her health deteriorated, she was surrounded by her family and friends whom loved and cared for her.
Relatives and friends of the family, Pastors, Officers and Members of St. Michael Baptist Church and all neighboring Churches are invited to the Celebration of Life Services at 11:00am on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at St. Micheal Baptist Church, 315 James Street, Kenner, LA 70062. Dr. Keith Smith,Pastor-Officiant. Visitation 9:00am until time of service at the above-named.Church. Interment St. Rose Cemetery (Elkinsville Cemetery), 364 2nd Street, St. Rose, LA 70087.
