Claudia Michelle Schroedl

Claudia Michelle Schroedl, 64, of Staatsburg, New York, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 11, 2025 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on January 8, 1961, in New Brunswick, NJ, she was the beloved daughter of the late Leonard Dauerman and Rita Goldstein Dauerman.
Claudia graduated from the New Jersey Institute of Technology with a degree in computer science. At NJIT, she met her future husband Richard Schroedl, who predeceased her in 2020 after 34 wonderful years of marriage, family and adventure. She would go on to obtain her masters degree in computer science from Syracuse University. After college, Claudia enjoyed a distinguished career with IBM, where she worked for over 40 years before retiring in 2024. As a Sales Executive, she was highly respected and recognized with numerous awards. Beyond her professional achievements, she formed deep friendships with colleagues who became lifelong companions.
Her work afforded her the opportunity to travel extensively, both across the country and around the world. A highlight was a recent trip to Kenya, where she enjoyed safaris and expeditions, creating memories she cherished deeply. Outside of work, Claudia found joy in many passions. She loved knitting, playing a variety of musical instruments, and attending Broadway shows. She also enjoyed playing tennis, travelling with her family, spending time with her close-knit group of friends, and doting on her beloved cats, Luna, Smokey, and Kenny. Claudia appreciated time with her family, often bringing everyone together with her exceptional planning and coordination. She was a driven and thoughtful person who found joy in life's little moments and never allowed her health challenges to diminish her spirit.
She is survived by her son, Daniel Schroedl, and his wife, Jasmine Wilson; her daughter, Jessica Schroedl; and her grandson, Sebastian Richard Schroedl. She is also survived by her brother, Harry Dauerman, and his wife Kimberly, and her nieces, Renee, Sophie, and Anna Dauerman.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Sweet's Funeral Home, 4365 Albany Post Road, Hyde Park. Rabbi Zoe Zak will officiate. Graveside services will follow at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, New Jersey.
The family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be considered in Claudia's name to a favorite
charity from her recent visit to Kenya: the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust (www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org) which rescues young orphaned elephants across Africa.
