It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Claudia Marie (Turco) Storm, 71, of West Hartford, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and cherished friend to so many. Claudia passed away on December 30, 2024, at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT. She lived a life full of love, laughter, and remarkable accomplishments.
Claudia was a proud graduate of Northwest Catholic High School and Georgetown University. She began her professional life with a promising career in financial services, before transitioning to being a full-time mom and community leader in her hometown of West Hartford.
For the last 15 years, she excelled at Pottery Barn, where she consistently garnered recognition as a top sales representative and interior designer locally, regionally, and nationally. Her generosity, selflessness, and positive influence on those around her were apparent in all facets of her life, including when she served as PTO president of Duffy, Sedgwick, and Conard; taught CCD at St. Helena; and was named Citizen of the Year by the West Hartford Public Schools.
Claudia married Larry Storm in 1982, beginning a partnership that would last almost 43 years and grow into a beautiful family. Together, they raised four children: Dave (wife, Sarah Storm), Mike (wife, Alix Arnaud), Anna (husband, Reed Choinski), and Matt. Her family was her greatest joy, and her legacy lives on in her children and grandchildren, Tyler, Jack, and Max, who adored their "Nonni." Additionally, she is survived by her two brothers, Vincent Jr. (wife, Sandra Turco) and Paul Turco (wife, Helen Rubino-Turco). She was predeceased by her loving parents, Dr. Vincent and Gloria Turco, whom she honored and admired throughout her life.
To those who knew her, Claudia was a woman of immense warmth, boundless energy, and unwavering kindness. She inspired everyone she met, leaving an indelible impression with her charm, thoughtfulness, and fierce dedication to her family and community.
In the words of her children, "To say we looked up to our mom would be a massive understatement. Our interactions with the world are shaped by the way we saw her interact with others-with grace, love, and an infectious spirit. She truly was the best of us."
Claudia's final days were filled with warmth, laughter, and meaningful moments, surrounded by those she loved the most. She took great pride in her children's achievements and saw in them the reflection of her own strength and values. Her love was unrelenting, her guidance invaluable, and her legacy immeasurable.
Calling hours will be Thursday, January 9, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Sheehan Hilborn Breen Funeral Home, 1084 New Britain Avenue, West Hartford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 10, at the Church of St. Timothy, 1116 North Main Street, West Hartford. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Farmington. Friends and family are invited to honor her memory and celebrate a life well-lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Claudia's name to the American Cancer Society (https://www.cancer.org/) or The Tiny Miracles Foundation (https://ttmf.org), reflecting her lifelong commitment to giving back and making the world a better place.
Claudia's warmth, humor, and love will remain in our hearts forever. She leaves behind an enduring example of how to live a life that prioritizes love, generosity, and connection. Online condolences may be made at www.SheehanHilbornBreen.com

Claudia was a wonderful neighbor to my family and a fierce advocate for the children of WHPS during my tenure as principal of Sedgwick. I remember her fondly as a parent who would immediately respond to my call for help. My deepest sympathy to Larry and Claudia's family. May her memory be eternal.

My daughter and I worked with Claudia to furnish and decorate my home prior to it being built. From lighting to furniture and carpets, she did it all. The moment I started explaining my vision, Claudia ran with it and designed a home that is even prettier than I could´ve imagined. Four days after closing, a huge Pottery Barn truck pulled up and Claudia´s work came to life. I am so glad that I was able to take her on a face time tour of the house after I moved in.

Whenever I saw Claudia, she greeted me with so much warmth. She was incredibly talented, fun, kind and appreciative. I referred friends to her, who also lived out of state, and after their furniture was delivered, she called me to thank me. I was the lucky one to have had her in my life.

I remember Claudia telling me how much she loved having her family visit. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Larry, my friend, I am so sorry. Claudia was a joy to be around, and I have so many happy memories of laughing with you two at events that she was inevitably running and donating her time to. Mike, Matt, Anna, and Dave, your Mom was a force of nature who loved you with all of her heart. Teaching you and becoming a part of your lives is one of the great gifts of my career. Tara and I wanted to raise our kids to go to Conard because of families like the Storms, and when I think of West Hartford I cannot imagine it without Claudia. Love and prayers to you all.
