Rosser Funeral Home - CleburneClaudina "Sue" Hodges Bogard, 78, of Cleburne, Texas, went home to be with her Lord, surrounded by family, on October 17, 2025.
Sue was born on October 23, 1946, in Lubbock, Texas, and though she made her home in Cleburne for the last several years, Lubbock always held a special place in her heart.
She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Dusty Bogard of Cleburne, Texas; her son, Shawn Bogard of Cleburne; daughter and son-in-law, Lucy and Chris Wright of Cleburne; daughter, Suzanne Bogard of Cleburne; three granddaughters, Taylor Wright, Teagan Wright, and Amanda Bogard; her brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Melinda Hodges; brother-in-law, Mike Claxton; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Herb and Evelyn Hodges, and her twin sister, Lou Claxton, all of Lubbock, Texas.
Sue attended Lubbock Christian College after high school and, after raising her family, returned to complete her education at Western Texas College, graduating Summa Cum Laude with an A.S. in Psychology. Throughout her life, Sue worked in numerous fields, but her heart was always in serving others. Her compassion and dedication shone through in her work with children's homes, the Easter Seal Society, and various church ministries.
A life-long member of the Church of Christ, Sue loved singing old gospel hymns and volunteering in the Bible Correspondence Courses for Prison Ministry. She had a creative spirit and found joy in decorating, arts and crafts, and playing a spirited game of cards with her twin sister, Lou. She cherished listening to her brother, Jim, play guitar and sing. In her later years, while living in a skilled nursing facility, Sue found happiness in coloring pictures for family and friends, playing Bingo, and often beating her daughters at Skip-Bo. Above all, she deeply loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and her many "grand-fur babies," especially Lucy's boxer, Tyson.
Sue's immediate family will hold a private tree planting service in her memory. Friends and family are invited to join a Celebration of Life Reception on Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the home of Chris and Lucy Wright, 1716 Lakeway Drive, Cleburne, TX 76033.
"I give thanks to my God for every remembrance of you."
- Philippians 1:3
