In Loving Memory of Cleave Leon Dingle Epps, Sr.
Mr. Cleave Leon Dingle Epps, Sr., 73, a well-known resident of Okeechobee, Florida passed away peacefully at his residence on November 11, 2024 at 8:34 pm.
He was born in Sebring, Florida to the parents of the late Robert Dingle and Johnnie Dingle on December 28, 1950. He attended the public school of Douglas Brown School in Okeechobee, Florida and graduated from Okeechobee High School in Okeechobee, Florida the class of 1962.
During his lifetime, he was gainfully employed in teaching and when he relocated to New York, where he was a janitor and a mentor to people for 26 years, and he also took care of his aunt Cornelius Epps. He attended First Missionary Baptist Church and Shiloh Baptist Church.
Along with his parents, Robert and Johnnie Dingle, Cleave was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, Larry Dingle, Gary Bulter, Leroy Daniels and Cleaster Johnson; and grandparents, Andrew and Lila Epps.
He leaves a lovely wife of 53 years, Frances Inez Epps; four children, Sedrick (Jacqueline) Henderson, Sr., Alvester (Anita) Epps, Precious L. Singleton, and Cleave Epps, Jr. He leaves to mourn four brothers, Ronald (Tereeka) Green, Henry Byrd, of Savannah, Georgia, Gregory Sanders (Philippines), Qustion (Shenell) Dingle, of Port St. Lucie, Florida; six sisters, Barbara Dingle, of Sanford, Florida, Eunice (Robert) Grahams, of West Palm Beach, Florida, Maria Dingle, Deloris Dingle, Elizabeth Dingle, all of Savannah, Georgia, Sonya Sanders, of North Carolina, and Sabrina Shine, of New York, New York; and his loving deceased aunt, Rosa Lee Williams, of Belle Glade, Florida; uncle, Robert Wells, of Lake Worth, Florida; seven grandchildren who he loved dearly, (Sedrick) Miesha Kelly, Sedrick Henderson, Jr. and Nia Henderson, (Alvester) Christian Epps (Precious), Ja'Tauras Epps, JaQuan Smith, Sr., and Janiyah Epps; one deceased grandson, Tommy Jones, Jr.; one loving godson, Myron T. Brooks, of Okeechobee, Florida; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
Cleave was a caring, loving and warm-hearted person. And he loved to sing and play the piano and mentor people. He loved to travel and most of all loved his family and friends.
Visitation will be 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2024 at Buxton & Bass Okeechobee Funeral Home. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2024 at First Missionary Baptist of Dean's Court, 906 NW 9th Avenue, Okeechobee, FL. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
