Cleo Swan Obituary

Cleo graduated from Hillsdale High School and went on to serve in the Navy Reserves before working as a brakeman for the railroad for 44 years. He loved being outdoors and spent a lot of time hunting, fishing, and golfing. Cleo was a handyman who was always willing to help with whatever project you needed him for. He was a member of the Elks, the Eagles, the Masons, the Moose Lodge and the NRA.
Cleo is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mary; four children, Darcy (Deborah) Swan, Sheryl (Tony) Matthews, Mark (Lisa) Seely, and Cindy Gilpatrick; one son-in-law, Randy Rumsey; twelve grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Kimberly Rumsey; and a grandson, Chris Hobart; and four siblings, Jay, Harry, and Fritz Swan and Audrey Guy.
A memorial visitation for Cleo Swan will take place on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 5:00- 7:00 PM at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Greater Hillsdale Humane Society.
