Cleveland Joseph Matthews, Jr. entered eternal rest on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at the age of 75. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Cleveland was educated at the Jefferson Parish School System. He was a retired truck driver and landscaper. Beloved father of Cleveland Matthews, III, and Joshua Warmington. Son of the late Cleveland and Beatrice Matthews. Brother of Willie Mae Johnson, Ida Mae Douglas, Verlia Mae Lewis, Amelia Gail Noel, Minister Roy Matthews, Charles Douglas and the late Doris Hunter, Shirley Holmes, Clarence, and Larrry Douglas, and Cess Matthews, Sr. Father in law of Toleah Matthews. Brother in law of Willie Noel, Sr., Francis Matthews, and Evelyn Douglas, also survived by 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Progressive Church, and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Progressive Church, 437 Cohen St. Marrero, LA on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 10:00a.m. Pastor Sterling Mealancon officiating. Viewing will be held from 8:30a.m until service time at the above named church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA.
