Clifton “Heath” McCorkle, 50, of Acworth, Georgia passed away unexpectedly on January 1, 2025. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, the son of Dr. Donald Arthur McCorkle and Sheila Liles McCorkle. Heath is survived by his children, Kaylen and Hudson, wife Allison, parents Don and Sheila, brother Ivan (Kim), and nephews, Conor and Tate.
Heath’s unexpected passing comes as a shock to all his loved ones, who are still reeling from the devastating loss. Heath lived a vibrant life and impacted everyone he met. While we have lost a beloved member of our family, many have lost a friend and loved one in him. No matter how you knew Heath or what influence he had in your life, once you were marked as important by him, he would be by your side in a heartbeat if you needed him. Heath will be remembered for his wicked smarts and witty sense of humor.
Heath was named a National Merit Finalist and graduated from Emory University on May 14, 2001, earning degrees in chemistry and biology. He worked many years as a QA manager in health and safety/quality assurance/compliance and was focused and committed to creating safe and efficient workplaces, specifically in the utility industries. He was employed at Osmose Utilities at the time of his passing.
Heath was married to Allison McCorkle in Birmingham, Alabama on December 2, 2006. He had two children, Kaylen (17-year-old daughter) and Hudson (13-year-old son).
Heath loved spending time with his family, mountain biking, kayaking, any outdoor activity, working out/exercising, and helping others. In recent years, he had devoted much of his time to helping those struggling with addiction/alcoholism.
Heath was passionate about breaking the stigma of addiction and the family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Shatterproof.org (https://shatterproof.org/give), a national non-profit organization dedicated to reversing the addiction crisis in the United States.
