Clint Harvey Caves, a faithful servant to his Lord, a loving family man, an honorable veteran, and a treasured member of his community, was called to his eternal home on July 14, 2025, in Brone, Texas. Born in the heart of El Paso, Texas, on December 15, 1942, Clint grew up with a firm foundation that would guide him through a storied and meaningful life.
After graduating from Pauls Valley High School in 1960 and dedicating five years to the United States Air Force, Clint continued his service to his country by joining the Navy, where he found a second home in Bremerhaven, Germany. His naval career took him places far and wide, culminating with his time aboard The Palm Beach. Clint carried his love for exploration into his personal life when, at the age of 67, he embarked on a memorable journey around the world on a freighter, reflective of his adventurous spirit and zest for life.
He found his other calling within the numbers, weaving his intelligence into every aspect of his long career in accounting after receiving his degree from Angelo State University in 1969. Known for his friendliness and faith-filled heart, Clint walked through life with unparalleled integrity, serving as a shining example of Christian values.
Clint was a man of profound familial love, alongside his devoted wife, Sandy, he raised a family that has blossomed to touch multiple generations. He was a proud father to Shery Wilkes and her husband, Mike, and a respected father-in-law to Robin Garner Caves. His legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren Rikki, Brook, Andrew Dylan, Madison, and Lauren. The light of his life further extended to his great-grandchildren Jordyn, Sydney, Ethan, and Emma, and the joyous arrival of great-great-grandchildren Riley and Luke. Clint's love and influence permeated his extended family, including his brothers H.A., Jimmy, Terry, Joe, and their wives, and sister-in-law Shirley.
As the scripture teaches us, "Well done, good and faithful servant" (Matthew 25:23), Clint Harvey Caves was indeed a good and faithful servant, not just to his God but to all who were graced by his presence. His intelligence was only surpassed by his warmth and devoutness, attributes that have baptized every corner of his world in a gentle, guiding light.
In line with one of his favorite quotes by Helen Keller, "What we have once enjoyed we can never lose; all that we deeply love becomes a part of us." Clint Harvey Caves indeed became a part of us, and because of this, he is never truly lost. His legacy is a tapestry of devotion, service, and love that will remain a comforting embrace to all who knew him.
As we gather to remember Clint, let us rejoice in the remarkable journey he traveled and the countless lives he touched. His was a life well-lived, marked by the footprints of his unwavering faith, the valor of his military service, his gift of friendship, and the indelible love he bestowed upon his family. Clint Harvey Caves' story is one of fulfillment, a testament to the life of an extraordinary man who now rests in the glory of his heavenly Father.
