Clinton Frederick Moore

Canandaigua – Clinton Frederick Moore, age 99, passed away peacefully, on Friday, July 19, 2024. He is survived by four children, Marjorie Kaller, Patricia Moore, Mitchell Moore (Sharon Mellville) and Douglas (Diane) Moore; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia (Raines) Moore, in 2006; infant daughter, Kathryn Moore, in 1963; and three siblings, J.Harry Moore, Mellicent MacVean and Betty Schrader.
Fred was born in Canandaigua and was the son of Frederick A. and Esther (Johnson) Moore. He attended Canandaigua schools and was a graduate of Canandaigua Academy, class of 1942. Fred was a US Army veteran of WWII, serving in the European Theatre with the 717th Tank Battalion. He retired in 1983 from Rochester Telephone, after 35 years there. Fred was an active member of the First Congregational Church, a member of the American Legion Post #256 and the Canandaigua Kiwanis Club, where he was also a past president. He volunteered at the VA Medical Center. Fred enjoyed woodworking, refinishing furniture and spending time with his family.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Friday, August 2, at 11am, at the First Congregational Church, 58 N. Main St., Canandaigua. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Canandaigua.
