98, of Greenville, passed away on December 15, 2023. Born in Providence, she was the wife of the late Joseph J. Zompa for 62 years; daughter of the late Roy and Raphael (Zannelli) Carlevale; sister of the late Roy Carlevale, Jr., and twin brothers – Edward Carlevale and the late Francis Carlevale; loving mother of Joseph M., Diana, and Paul Zompa; and grandmother of D. Scott Knowlton, Joseph S. Zompa, Craig Knowlton, Nicholas Zompa, and the late Michael Zompa. Louise was an outstanding homemaker right out of the 1950's. She was a magnificent cook and baker, gifting a legacy of fabulous handwritten recipes with her tips recorded in the margins for her children and grandchildren to enjoy. She was an accomplished seamstress; and for a number of years enjoyed part-time employment as the manager of the Remnant Shack in Providence. Her favorite hobbies included bowling in a women's league at Lang's Bowlarama and creating hand-painted ceramic pieces. Among her creations, were three 21 piece Nativity displays and three Christmas trees, cherished by each of her children.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 10am from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, at 11am in St. Michael's Church, 80 Farnum Pike, Smithfield. Burial will be at St. Ann's Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS Wednesday morning from 8:30-10am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the RI SPCA, 155 Plan Way, Warwick, RI 02886.
