Josephine M. Zompa

Josephine M. (Valletta) Zompa, 98, of Warwick, passed away, peacefully, on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Warwick, she was the daughter of the late Giovanni and Giovannina (Pucino) Valletta. She was the former wife of the late Ralph C. Zompa, Sr.
Josephine worked as a Seamstress and Jewelry Assembler for many years. A devout Catholic, she was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in West Warwick. In her free time, Josephine enjoyed sewing, cooking, and watching Westerns and Jeff Chandler movies. She was also particularly fond of WWE Wrestling. Her heart was genuine and full of love. Always outgoing and was known for her favorite saying "Go Slow."
She is survived by her beloved children, Ralph C. Zompa, Jr. of Warwick, Cheryl A. Sanocki (Mark) of Wood River Junction, and James A. Zompa (Claudia) of Warwick, her grandchildren, Amanda Rose (Spencer) and Mark Sanocki, Jr. and her four great-grandsons, Mason Sanocki, Aiden Rose, Carter Rose, and Emerson Rose.
Josephine was the sister of the late Antimo F. Valletta, Vincenzo E. Valletta, Domenic L. Valletta, and Marie G. Dorsey.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated on Friday, June 23, 2023 at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Church, 820 Providence Street, West Warwick. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Warwick.
Visitation will be held prior to the Funeral Mass from 8:00AM-10:00AM at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
