Cloyce Gene Coffman, age 84, of Stewartsville, Missouri passed away on January 14, 2026. He was born December 21, 1941 on the family farm near Magnolia, Iowa to David Alma and Vera Geneva (Carlile) Coffman.

In the summer of 1943, the Coffman family moved to a farm north of Osborn, Missouri. Cloyce attended school in Osborn through 6th grade. The family moved to a farm on the northeast side of Cameron, Missouri in the early part of 1951. He graduated from Cameron High School in 1959. Cloyce was baptized in the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints, ordained to the priesthood and served his savior Jesus Christ as a High Priest faithfully throughout his life.

After graduating from high school, Cloyce attended Graceland College in Lamoni, Iowa where he earned his Associate Degree in Science. He continued his education at the University of Missouri in Columbia; receiving a B.S. degree in Vocational Agricultural Education and an M.S. degree in Soil and Crop Science. Cloyce was married to Bonnie Gay Hinderks of Stewartsville, Missouri on June 14, 1964, and they enjoyed 61 years of marriage together; raising three daughters and a son.

From March 1967 to June 1969, Cloyce served as an Extension Agronomist for three counties in SE Missouri, just west of Cape Girardeau where his oldest daughter was born. He moved to NW Missouri in June 1969 to work for Missouri Western State College in developing and teaching an Agricultural Business Program. In the Fall of 1976 he moved to Ames, Iowa to work as a teacher in the Soil & Crop Science department and he earned his PhD from Iowa State University in the Spring of 1981. Cloyce became the lead Extension Corn and Sorghum Specialist for the State of Texas at Texas A&M University that fall. He worked throughout the State of Texas until his retirement in December 2001.

Upon retirement Cloyce and Bonnie moved back to Stewartsville, Missouri and operated the family farm until his passing. Cloyce is preceded in death by his Parents; his brother Paul Coffman; his great-grandson Benjamin Hawley and is survived by his wife Bonnie Coffman; Brother Don (Cheryl) Coffman; Sister Valera Beavers; Sister-in-Law Janis Coffman; and daughter Gayla (Greg) Mogg; daughter Gena (Brett) Stevenson; son Darren (Angela) Coffman; daughter Dana (Aaron) Lyons; 18 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Visitation is January 17, 2026 at 10a.m. and Memorial Services at 11a.m. held at Maysville Restoration Branch (7319 MO Hwy 33, Osborn, MO 64474). Burial will be in the Maple Grove Cemetery on highway N, 3 miles north of Stewartsville following the Memorial.
