Clyde Ransom Johnson

Reverend Clyde Ransom Johnson, 89, beloved husband of Willie Johnson, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
Born in Saluda, NC, he was the son of the late Clayton Henry and Lona Pace Johnson.
Rev. Johnson was a devoted member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for 52 years. As a devout Christian, he lived his faith daily, spreading love and kindness by passing out Bible tracks, spreading the love of Jesus with all. He served as the Chaplain at Perry Correctional Institute, sharing his wisdom and compassion until his retirement. Even in retirement, he continued to work part-time for American Security, embodying a life devoted to helping others. Clyde's unwavering faith, gentle spirit, and profound acts of service have left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know him.
A true fan of the Carolina Gamecocks, Clyde's passion for sports mirrored his zest for life, always finding joy in the camaraderie and competition.
His deep devotion and commitment to God, his family, and the church will forever be remembered. He lived his life guided by the motto, "Heaven bound with the hammer down," and his spirit will remain a beacon of light for others.
He is survived by his daughter, Susan Johnson (Aaron Landreth); stepdaughter, Melinda Fuller; stepson, Rodney Fuller; grandchildren, Chase Blankenship (Rachel), Clayton Johnson (Sarah), Cameron Johnson, Anna Johnson, and Brandon Johnson; great grandchildren, Emma, Luke, Logan, and Charlotte Blankenship; three nieces; and one nephew.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Randy Johnson, James Johnson, and Roger Johnson; daughter, Sherryl Dowling; brothers, John Johnson, and Arthur Johnson; and great grandfather, Ransom Taylor "Bud" Pace.
A visitation will be held Friday, November 08, 2024, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:15 p.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church followed by the funeral service at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be held in Tabernacle Baptist Church Cemetery.
