Clyde Duane Shellenberger

Clyde D. "C.D." Shellenberger, age 84, passed away on January 4, 2026.
Clyde was born on February 7, 1941, in the family home in Bushong, Kansas. Growing up in Bushong, he developed a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for rural life that stayed with him throughout his years.
He spent several years working as an engineer for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, a career that reflected his precision, responsibility, and dedication. Clyde retired in 2003 after 41 years of dependable service.
On October 9, 1982, Clyde was united in marriage to Barbara A. (Baird) Shellenberger, who preceded him in death in 2018.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and one sister. Clyde is survived by one sister, Darlene Rees of Emporia, Kansas, as well as several nieces and nephews, all of whom will remember him fondly.
Funeral services will be held at Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home and Crematory on February 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Clyde has been cremated.
Clyde will be remembered for his sharp mind, the way he loved to haggle for a better deal, the pride he took in being a devoted husband and caring provider, and for his stories about life. He lived a full and complete life.
