Clyde E. Smith, 88, of Plainfield, passed away on March 28, 2025. He was born on April 16, 1936 in Sullivan, Indiana to the late Glenn Smith and Mildred (Cummins) Smith. Clyde honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. He later worked for P.S.I./ Duke Energy as a data processor for many years before retiring in 1994. He regularly attended Stilesville Christian Church on Sundays. Clyde enjoyed gun range shooting, riding his motorcycle, and working on cars and numerous things. He also had a love for aviation and was considered a jack of all trades, sometimes being called Mr. Fix-it. Above all, he really enjoyed family vacations and get-togethers with all his children and grandchildren. Clyde is preceded in death by his loving wife, Judith Smith; sister, Marjorie York; granddaughter, Erin Smith. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m., where friends and family may visit from 11:00 a.m. until time of services. Burial will follow to Maple Hill Cemetery with Military Honors. Survivors include his sons, Darrin (Ann) Smith and Andrew (Kelly) Smith; daughters, Michelle (Larry) Sharp and Leanne (Richard) Moore; brother, Larry (Linda) Smith; sister, Linda (Bill) Harris; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren with one on the way.
