Clyde Eldon Strobel, 83, passed away on April 16, 2025 at the Cedar Village Care Center in Ness City, Kansas. He was born on December 9, 1941 in Ness City, Kansas the son of Clyde and Lillian (Burdett) Stroebel. Eldon was a farmer and worked as Ness City police officer for 6 years; then he worked as a Ness County Sheriff's Office for 14 years as deputy Undersheriff, Jailor, and Dispatcher. He was a benefactor member of NRA. He married Sharon Mudd on January 31, 1959, in Ness City, Kansas. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Strobel of Ness City; 2 sons, Rodney Strobel of Medicine Lodge, Harvey Strobel (Nicole) of Dighton; daughter, Christina Strobel of Ness City; sister-in-law, Lynn Lee; 7 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Mary Ann Strobel; daughter-in-law, Barbara Strobel; sister's Evelyn McCubbin, Vera Keeler, Joyce Henry; and granddaughter, Heidi Lambert. The memorial service will be on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, 10:00 a.m., at Fitzgerald Funeral Home, Ness City, Kansas followed by a burial in the Ness City Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to the National Rifle Association. Words of sympathy and support may be left for the family at www.fitzgeraldfuneral.com.
