Obituary of Cody John Elmendorf
Catskill -
Cody John Elmendorf, 61, of Catskill, NY passed away at his home on Saturday, April 5, 2025.
Cody was born on January 24, 1964, in Poughkeepsie, NY and was the son of the late George and Cloey Elmendorf. He graduated from Hudson High School then attended Columbia Greene Community College. Cody worked at the SWM Ancram Mill as a Double AA Electrician and Forklift Operator for over 32 years.
Cody was a loving, happy man who had an incredible sense of humor. He could always make you laugh and put a smile on anyone's face. Cody grew up in a farming family and his love of animals stayed with him his whole life. He always had every kind of animal from horses, cows, sheep, goats, ducks, geese, and his prized chickens. He was an avid golfer and was a gifted craftsman who could build or fix anything.
Cody is survived by his wife, Denise of 18 years. Stepchildren Jason Hutchinson, Shelby Minshell, and son Dalton Arnold who resides in Arizona. He is also survived by brothers Clint Elmendorf of Newburgh, Dain Elmendorf (Kathy) of Craryville, and sister Kimberlee Lundh (Espen) of Bradenton, FL. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He will be greatly missed by his good friend and cousin Bobby Doyle and his best friend, his dog buddy.
He was predeceased by his parents George and Cloey Elmendorf as well as sisters Darlene and Tonya Elmendorf.
Please join us for a celebration of Cody's life on Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Anthony's Banquet Hall, 746 County Route 23 B Leeds, NY 12451 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
