Rebecca Ann Elmendorf (Brooks), 36, of Olivebridge, New York, passed away on May 28, 2025, surrounded by her loving husband, father, mother and best friend at the Medical University of South Carolina after a two-month battle with Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension (PAH).
Born May 16, 1989, in Kingston, NY, to Robert and Laurie Brooks of Accord, NY Rebecca was a 2008 graduate of Rondout Valley High School in Accord and BOCES in Port Ewen. For many years, she worked at Rite Aid/Walgreens in Stone Ridge where she was noted to be one of the friendliest and most kind employees to all who crossed her path. She most recently worked for the Commercial Driver Training School in Kingston, NY until she became a loving stay at home mom to her beautiful daughter.
Rebecca was an excellent baker and loved making cookies and other baked goods for her friends and family during the holiday season. She was most famous for her NY Style cheesecakes. She loved being outdoors, picking apples, strawberries and blueberries when in season. Rebecca was an amazing wife, mommy, daughter, sister and friend.
Rebecca is preceded in death by, her paternal grandparents, Robert J. and Beatrice Brooks; maternal grandparents, Frank W. and Janet Monte; Aunts and Uncles, Nanette Liedtke, Nicolas J. Monte, Dawn M. Brush, and Francis J. Monte.
Rebecca is survived by her loving husband, Jonathan Elmendorf, who never left her side, and her daughter Madison, her pride and joy, whom she loved so dearly. She is also survived by her loving parents, Robert W. Brooks and Laurie Brooks. Her sisters, Vanessa Netzley (Derick), and Alexandra Brooks (Rob). Her father-in-law, Terry Elmendorf (Suellen); Sister-in-laws, Marissa Elmendorf, and Lauren Habernig (John); best friend, Ariel Gallagher; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins,
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life to reminisce and honor the life of our beloved Rebecca. Those who wish to attend can contact a family member for more details.
We love you to the moon and back our sweet angel in Heaven.
