High Falls - David E. Shuman, 57, of High Falls, died Monday March 3, 2025 at his home. He was born in Kingston April 8, 1967 a son of Ursula (Ulla) and Edward Shuman. David graduated from Rondout Valley High School and went on to earn a degree in Political Science at Marist College where he also played football. He worked for Dyno Nobel and Ball Corporation where he met the love of his life Mary (Alice) Shuman who survives at home. Also survived by his sister Nicole Donovan of Florida, stepdaughter Antoinette Velie, 2 nephews DJ and Camron Garrison of Florida, 2 grandchildren Lindsey Brenner and Mason Velie of New Paltz. Many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. He was predeceased by his mother Ursula Shuman and stepson Matthew Sturgess.
Visitation for family and friends will be 2 to 4 PM on Saturday March 15, 2025 at the George J. Moylan Funeral Home Inc., 2053 Route 32, Rosendale. (www.GJMoylanFuneralHome.com) At 4 PM following the visitation Rev. Arlene Dawber will officiate his funeral service. Burial will take place privately. The family suggest memorial donations to Memorial Hospital Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. www.mskcc.org
