Accord - With profound sadness we announce the passing of Kim Sue Demorest, 64, of Accord, NY. Kim was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and cherished friend. Kim passed away on June 13, 2025 surrounded by her family at HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston. Kim was a beacon of love, family and generousity. Kim was a constant source of support for her family.
She graduated from Rondout Valley High School in 1979. Later in her life she returned back to the district as a food service worker at the High School, Middle School and Marbletown Elementary. She retired as head cook from Kerhonkson Elementary in June 2022, where she earned the title "Grandma Kitchen". Kim took so much pride in her work and was tremendously dedicated.
She was the devoted wife to Scott Demorest. They were married on September 20, 1980. Then started their family.
She was the proud mother to Lorissa Demorest - Beatty (Ric) of Accord, Aaron Demorest (Melissa) of Accord and David Demorest (Claudia) of Swansboro, NC. Kim was the most loving grandmother to her pride and joys, Aiden, Preston, Mason, Morgan, Hailey, Blake, David Jr., Matthew and Lainey May. Kim is also survived by her mother and step father Helen and Reginald Solceberg, her mother in law Beverly Demorest, her brother Ken Coddington (Donna), sisters, Kathy Bradford and Karen Volk (Wayne), her brother in law George Demorest (Fran) and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father, Kenneth Coddington, hers brothers Kevin and Kris Coddington and her brother in law Brian Demorest.
Kim was a prideful stoic woman. She handled life with grace and love. You could find Kim wherever her grandchildren were. She put her family first each and every day. Soott and Kim built a life of no regrets.
Kim's family would like to give their love to Dr. Michael Moskowitz and the wonderful staff at HealthAlliance Hospital on 4 Spellman. The most professional and caring people we have ever met. #4409
