With a heavy heart the world said goodbye to Coleman Lance Allen on October 27th, 2023. Coleman was born on December 23rd, 1971 in Santa Rosa, CA. At the age of 5 his family relocated to Draper, UT. During his youth Coleman lived with his mother Beverley and step-father Harold and step-brother Jeff. In his youth he developed skills of mechanics with Harold.
He would travel to his birthplace where his father, Louis Allen and siblings, Eric, Karen, Nelda and Bonnie resided. During these ventures to CA his deep love for the ocean, fishing and sea-life were cemented into him. In his teenage years he was a lover of Ice Hockey and played for the Alta Hawks as a defenseman with one of his best friends playing alongside him in the net, Brett Stark.
At the age of 18, Coleman met his future wife and mother of his 4 children at Garcia's Mexican Restaurant, Hilary Swan. He was quickly accepted as part of her family and their life together began.
At the age of 20 Coleman was honored to be called to serve an LDS mission. He was originally called to the Philippines, but the mission was then changed to the Denver, CO mission. He had a strong testimony of the gospel and loved Christ and
Heavenly Father with all of his might.
Coleman returned from his mission, married Hilary Swan and over the next 9 years they had their four children. Coleman Ryley Allen, Kyla Rose Allen, Corbin Louis Grant Allen and Lillian Skye Allen. Coleman loved his children and was proud of them until the day he passed. He instilled so many skills into each one of his children and as we witness today how he lives on through them. His love for hockey trickled down to each one of them, as well as his love for music, his love for a unique fashion sense, his artistic abilities, his work-ethic and ability to learn skills quickly, his kindness and selflessness. These are all things that his children now carry on as his legacy.
Coleman was a tradesman at heart and a jack of all trades. He made many friends throughout his career. He built the beautiful home Hilary and his children cherish with his skills. We celebrate all of his wonderful talents and genuine kindness that he spread to anyone who he came across.
His strength was mighty and his family will always be extremely proud of his courage when facing the many adversities that come along with the challenges of life.
His family is grateful for all of those who were present and supportive in his life. His memory with bring smiles to faces forever.
