Norma May Cowper Davis

Norma was born May 12,1931 to Franklin L. Cowper and Norma I. Jenero Cowper. Norma passed away on Monday the 18th of August.

Norma was born in Detroit, Michigan. As a youth she participated in The Salvation Army youth group. She gained her love for the outdoors, earning the highest honor from this experience. This is where Norma gained her inner strength and incredible bravery.

Norma is an exceptional artist, selling her watercolor creations that are enjoyed by many. She loved this beautiful earth that God created for His children, enamored with mountains and flower gardens, much of which she painted.

Norma joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after marrying Charles Davis. Along with their daughters Robin and Bonnie, they were sealed together in the Salt Lake Temple establishing their eternal family. Their family was later added upon when Jenny and Charles (Chuck) joined the ranks. Norma was blessed to travel the skies with her husband as he was a gifted pilot. She was eager and grateful to see all that she possibly could; willing to be uprooted and embark on new adventures regularly.

After joining the church, she gained a great love for the Savior, Jesus Christ, and His gospel, serving in many callings in her efforts to help others grow and strengthen the kingdom of God on the earth. She was an avid lover of family history and temple work, Norma submitted over 250,000 names for those in her ancestry, that they may receive the saving ordinances of the gospel of Jesus Christ and make sacred covenants securing their exaltation.

Proceeded in death by her husband Charles and daughter Robin and precious granddaughter Alexandra.

Her daughter Bonnie, husband Justin, her daughter Jenny, and her son Chuck will miss her, as will many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends and loved ones.

We are grateful for Bethany and all her acts of kindness and service for our mother and grandmother.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 23rd at 11:00 am at the Murray City Cemetery. The grave will be dedicated by her son-in-law. All desiring to send flowers, which Norma loved so much, may send them to Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary by Friday, 5:00 pm August 22nd at 4760 So. State St. in Murray.

Enjoy the beautiful gardens in heaven!
