Colleen Marie (Dailey) Smith, 66, of Hubbard passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at home surrounded by her family. Born on June 28, 1959, in Youngstown, she graced this world with her warmth and kindness, leaving an indelible mark on all who were privileged to know her.
Colleen was a proud 1977 graduate of Girard High and further pursued her passion for learning, graduating from Cleveland Tech School in 1979. Throughout her life, she embraced challenges with unwavering determination, becoming an avid master gardener whose love for nature was rivaled only by her fervent enthusiasm for the outdoors. Camping, hiking, and baking were not mere hobbies for her. Her spirit found joy in crafting memorable moments with her family, particularly during trips to see her beloved Notre Dame football games—a tradition that brought together laughter, cheers, and a shared love for sports.
Colleen's greatest pride lay in her family, her heart intertwined with that of her loving husband, Thomas C. Smith Jr. whom she married July 21, 1979. Together, they nurtured a family filled with love and bonds that grew stronger with each passing day. She is survived by her dedicated children: Thomas "Tommy" C. Smith III (Katie); Jamie McCormick, who shares her life with Michael; and Jonathan R. Smith (fiance Megan). Colleen found immense joy in being a grandmother to Malea, Abbey, Gianna, Jack, and Ellianna, whose bright smiles brought light to her every day.
In the tender embrace of family, Colleen also leaves behind her beloved mother, Rose Marie (Genetta) Dailey, sister, Kathleen Rose (Dailey) Gacsal, who was a constant source of support throughout life's journey. She is preceded in death by her father, John C. Dailey, and her brother, Mark E. Dailey, whose memory will be honored and cherished.
A visitation with Colleen’s family will be held at Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard, Ohio, on November 12, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a funeral service to follow at 7:00 PM. Friends and family are invited to share in the remembrance of a remarkable woman whose spirit and love will forever resonate in the hearts of those she touched.
