Robert Conner Burnham of Clarksdale, MS, died Saturday August 19, 2023, in Cleveland, MS after a lengthy illness. Conner, age 61, was born on December 28, 1961, in Clarksdale. He was the third child of the late Dr. Van Robinson Burnham, Jr. and the late Barbara Braswell Burnham.
Conner grew up in Clarksdale, attended St. George's Episcopal Day School, and graduated from Lee Academy. He then attended Ole Miss, where he was model pledge of his fraternity, Phi Delta Theta. Conner received BA and MBA degrees, both cum laude, from Millsaps College. Conner worked as a pharmaceutical and hospital representative for Eli Lilly and Company and also for Jannsen Pharmaceuticals.
Conner loved adventure and was a member of a world championship sky diving team, having completed more than 1000 jumps. His greatest passion, however, was Yoga. He was an advanced Yogi and enjoyed teaching classes throughout the Delta to students, aged 5 to 85. He was also a lover of all animals, but especially cats, including his long-time companions, Thomas and Eli.
Conner is survived by his sister, Babs Burnham Henry (Chan) and his brother, Van (Bubba) Burnham III (Ginger). He is also survived by nephews and niece, Scott Hollis (Natasha), Van Hollis (Rayanne), Denson Hollis (Lauren), Beth Burnham (Cody Simmons), Van (Bo) Burnham IV (Heidi), and great nieces and nephews, Eloise, Marian, and Vivi Hollis, Burnham and Kent Hollis, and Van Burnham V.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 22 from 5:00 till 7:00 in the fellowship hall of First Methodist Church in Clarksdale, MS. A graveside service will be held at a later date.
