Connie Ashby, 75 years young of Uniontown, Ky, went to her eternal home on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at Deaconess Henderson Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, George Ashby. Her mother, Regina Tapp, her sister, Dottie Newball, and her brother, Darrell Tapp.
Survivors include her "3-links", her children Tony (Mary) Ashby, Genia (Chad) Lynn, Devon (Paul) Alvis, her seven grandchildren, Kayla Dunn, Kelsey Clevidence, Melanee Ashby, Ethan Ashby, Ashton Steelman, Justin Alvis, and Carson Alvis, and her 11 great-grandchildren, brothers Jimmy Tapp and Charlie Tapp.
Connie was a loving and devoted mother and Nan. She lived life to the fullest, on her own terms. Always. She loved her family. Coca-Cola, preferably in a plastic bottle. Sitting on the beach from sunrise to sunset, with her toes hidden in the sand. She lived for her Tuesday and Wednesday nights at the Bingo Hall with her closest friends. You could always count on her to be there with a table full of cards and a grin on her face. She loved her routine. Her morning exercise, her pancakes and chocolate milk, grocery shopping and Long John Silvers breakfast on Wednesdays, her hair appointments every 6 weeks on the dot. She had more energy than people half her age. She loved to run and go. Shopping, the movies, baseball games, she would go anywhere as long as she was with her family. She always had to have the latest fashion. She loved decorating with her girls for every holiday. She loved holiday nick-knacks and a good clearance rack, but you best believe she made sure to always check that receipt. She had a sweet tooth. She always had stashed candy bars and brownies in her purse, and she made sure to always offer to split them with you. She was a small memo pad and ink pen kind of girl, especially when she was keeping score during Uno. She was a picky eater, but she would argue that she wasn't. She hated to swim, but she would sit by the water for as long as her family would let her. Her home was always clean, with a pantry full of Little Debbies ready for her grandchildren. Connie was beautiful, inside and out. Her heart was so kind and pure. She lived a life that most only dreamed about. Surrounded by her family and friends, always waiting for her next adventure. The world was so fortunate to have our Nan, Connie Ashby.
