Connie Joy Williams Bishop-Witt was born in Cardston, Alberta, Canada, on February 23, 1936. From her early days helping her mother pull weeds to earn money for the rodeo, Connie's life was filled with determination, curiosity, and joy. She began her lifelong career in banking as a draft clerk in her hometown and, after moving to Southern California, worked her way up to become a Wells Fargo bank manager. She took great pride in her work, serving customers and mentoring colleagues until her retirement. After retirement, Connie and her husband, William "Bill" Witt, made their home in Sun City West, Arizona, where they enjoyed traveling on cruises and in their motor home. Retirement also gave Connie time to discover new passions. She became a talented painter, enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles, tending her plants, and never lost her love for horses, baseball, and old movies. A devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Connie lived her faith and cherished the connections it brought into her life. She was proud to become a U.S. citizen, just so she could vote for Ronald Reagan. She treasured the independence and opportunity her citizenship represented. In 2019, Connie moved to Wenatchee to be closer to family and near her sister-in- law, Carol Williams, who ensured she received the care she needed. Even as her mobility became limited, Connie's independent spirit remained strong, keeping family and caregivers worried about her safety. Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Rosealee Williams; her beloved husband, Bill; her sisters, Wilda Bevans and Elinor Lamb; and her brother, Max Williams. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Carol Williams, and many nieces and nephews in both the U.S. and Canada. She had a special bond with her nephew Max Williams, Jr., who spent a lot of quality time with her while she was in long-term care. The family extends heartfelt thanks to her caregivers at Colonial Vista, the LDS church members, and to Hospice for their compassionate care and support. Connie will be remembered for her independence, adventurous spirit, and the love she shared with those around her. Arrangements are by Jones & Jones – Betts Funeral Home.
